Larry L. Anderson Jr. is a North Philadelphia native who now resides in Glenside, PA. Anderson graduated from Cairn University (formerly known as Philadelphia Biblical University) with a B.S. in Bible with an emphasis in Christian Leadership. He has received his Master of Divinity and his Doctorate in Ministry Degrees from Missio Seminary (formerly known as Biblical Theological Seminary). Dr. Anderson became the pastor of Great Commission Church in September 2004. In his time as pastor he has been blessed to see the congregation grow spiritually and numerically. One of his noted achievements to date has been his ability to follow the voice of God by leading GCC from the suburbs of Montgomery County into the city of Philadelphia to impact their new community with a holistic gospel. Dr. Anderson was the first African American Professor to serve on the faculty of Biblical Theological Seminary. He established the Urban M. Div program and also served as director of both the Doctoral and Urban Programs. Dr. Anderson joined the Staff of the Baptist Resource Network in April 2013. He is the Director of Healthy Churches overseeing 350 churches throughout Pennsylvania and South Jersey. Dr. Anderson serves as the Board Chairman for Community Forgiveness and Restoration, an initiative designed to battle against Recidivism. He is also a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated.
D. Kyle Canty was born and raised in North Philadelphia and now resides in the West Oak Lane section of the city. The Lord has blessed him with a wonderful wife of 19years, Pam, and three beautiful children,. Dr. Canty is a graduate of Cairn University (Formerly Philadelphia Biblical University) with a Bachelor’s of
Science in Pre-Seminary/Bible. He also has a Master’s of Science Degree in Christian Counseling from Cairn University. He also holds a Master of Divinity (Urban Missional Leadership) and a Doctorate of Ministry (Urban Missiology) degree from Missio Seminary (formerly Biblical Theological Seminary). He currently works for the North American Mission Board as the SEND City Missionary/Church Plant Catalyst for the City of Philadelphia. He has been the assistant pastors of Great Commission Church for 15 years.
